As part of the 11th National Congress of Audiologists, MED-EL hosted a round table titled “Afternoon tea with MED-EL” a unique meeting that created a warm, professional and friendly atmosphere for open dialogue on cochlear implantation in a Q&A format.
Maria Pazi - a Research Associate of Sechenov Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Biochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, science journalist, expert at ITMO University’s Center for Science Communication and MED-EL cochlear implant user. Maria told the participants about the influence of the audio processor’s coding strategy and the individualization of settings on the CI users’ speech perception and the sound quality.
Andrey Izosimov, Clinical Specialist in Hearing Systems at MED-EL, prese nted the company’s latest products.
Vladimir Gaufman is a surdolog-otorhinolaringologist, Krasnodar’s “MasterSluh” medical centers’ head physician, an audiology expert, the diagnostics and hearing pathologies’ in children and adults specialist, shared peculiarities of MED-EL speech processors’ setting.
Vladimir Gaufman — audiologist and otorhinolaryngologist, Chief Physician of the “MasterSluh” medical centers in Krasnodar, expert in audiology, and specialist in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of hearing disorders in children and adults — shared his insights on the fine-tuning of MED-EL speech processors.
At the conclusion of the event, an engaging workshop led by Svetlana Burnos in the Indian language took place. She immersed the audience in the special atmosphere in which children with hearing impairments live. The participants of the round table learned a song through actions, gestures, and words — it became a truly valuable and unique experience.
