The story of the first-grader
My name is Ivanov Maxim. I live in Pskov. I am 7 years old. The cochlear implant is used since I was 1 year and 7 months. The device changed my life by 100%. Now I'm studying at the Lyceum in 1st grade, under the program "Harmony". We have 34 people in the class. I'm studying well, at 4 and 5, but sometimes it's 3. During the breaks, we play football with high school students. I sit on the second desk, and I used to sit on the fourth. Everything the teacher says is audible well.
I play football (goalkeeper), visit tournaments, visit the chess club "White Rook", has already earned the second youth's rank in chess, I go to pool (I swim with the "ear" in the case). Last year I left a kindergarten next to the house, many of my friends go to the same school with me. In the garden everyone asked me why I needed this thing. I replied: "This is a cochlear implant, I can hear with its help." My son Maxim told me this when I asked him about a cochlear implant.
Mom's story
From myself I want to add that we spent a lot of time studying for the first 4 years after the connection. When Maxim was small, we went to the defectologist, when there was a speech - went to a speech therapist. We were very lucky with the teachers. Before the school they were engaged in sound analysis of words and reading. All that teachers gave, fixed at home, tried every day to play board games. As a result, my dream came true - we are studying in an ordinary school, as we dreamed 5 years ago. In school, studying is easy - the sounds all differentiate, transcription by ear is written, tells the reports with everyone on a par. Of course, there are new words in school, the values of which I explain at home, but I think many children have.
We go to the trampoline center, to the water park, we ride a bicycle and do not take off the RP for a minute, only for the night. Sometimes I even forget that the child has hearing problems. We would like to say a big thank you to those people who invented the cochlear implant, the implant creators - MED-EL, the surgeon - Kuzovkov Vladislav Evgenevich and all the teachers who helped us on our way to the world of sounds!
