My younger brother
My younger brother's name is Maxim, now he is 6 years old. Maxim was cheerful fr om birth, although he did not play a lot, but he laughed in his voice at the whole apartment. Only when he was one year old, we learn that he does not hear us. When all the kids started talking, Maxim was silent. Mom and Dad were upset, even confused and did not know what to do. Then I was only 7 years old, and I did not understand how was that possible. We checked his ears, but when we whispered and even sang to him, he did not react at all.
I remember how my parents registered disability, bought hearing aids, but he did not hear them either. Then I thought that I could never talk to my brother, tell him how I was doing and ask how his day was. I was sad and my parents were also hard, although they tried to hide their feelings.
How did we learn about cochlear implantation
Later, parents were invited to a conference in the city of Surgut, wh ere specialists from the Research Institute of the ENT took part, they talked about cochlear implantation. On this day, our family had a hope that my beloved brother will hear again. By the age of two, Maxim had both implants installed (MED-EL). My brother has found a long-awaited hearing.

Now he is proudly playing in the evenings more and more. Music develops his hearing and speech. Now he is happy to go to the preparatory courses for the school, reads, tells poems.
